It was evident that I would go to the Royal Art Academy in The Hague to become an artist. In real life this meant praises and poverty.
From my earliest exhibitions on I showed theme-series. After extended travels through Middle America I made a series about the MAYA CULTURE. Because of my interest in CELEBRITIES I started to portray people like Judy Garland, Liza
Minnelli... And, as I always have been fascinated by the male body, also MALE
NUDES. I showed a whole new collection of male nudes during a Gay Pride Day and the reactions were
heartwarming.
Maurice also gives lectures and classes on art. He lives in Den Haag (The Hague), a big city on the North Sea Coast (next to Scheveningen), 50 minutes from Amsterdam. ((
